Evolution Of Denim

We can definitely say the denim trend has come a long way since the late 18th century, that's way before your grandmother was born. Denim jeans started in the early 1850's during the California Gold Rush when Levi Strauss ( yes, the creator of Levi's Denim ) took over his brother's business using rough canvas for tents and wagon covers to sell, a miner told him "You should have brought pants!" Levi Strauss used his canvas to make waist high overalls. Miners did not like the discomfort of it as much they do with the design so Levi substituted a twill weaved cotton cloth which later the fabric became known as 'serge de nimes' and 'blue jeans'. Realize that jeans during the time and up until the 1950 denim was worn as labor wear clothes, until teenage film stars in the 50's took a liking to denim and it became comfort wear. By 1980's we were introduced to a wider range of denim trends. Ripped jeans, stone washed, colored jeans are the few to name and Calvin Klein along with Armani are the popular designers during the time. Most of those trousers were high waist, which are not often worn in modern day, however you can make it more tasteful to wear; this is for the ladies, cut a pair of high waist denim into shorts but leave it 6 centimeters off from where you want it because you will have to fold it up and hem. Voala! You have a pair of stylish high waisted shorts altered by just you, with a few tips from me obviously, but I won't tell. ;)  Some very fine brand of jeans includes True Religion, LV's, D&G's, Miss Me. Fine brands for men includes Levi's, Gap, Marc Jacobs if you go crazy with your trousers, Paul & Joe, Rag & Bone are sportswear with very high quality and fine fitting for men, Tsubi for the guys on the wild side and I save the best for last, fcuk, as inappropriate as it sounds, it's an actual brand which is the acronym for FRENCH CONNECTION UNITED KINGDOM, get your head out of the gutter. ;) Anyways, you may want to take notice that jeans and denim have a huge difference: Denim fabric are more of comfort and more often worn as work clothes as jean fabric are heavier material and does not offer as much comfort and durability as denim fabric do. Traditionally, denim was a shade of blue with indigo dye to make a lighter shade of blue. Now in modern day, more options are available to denim, naming a few: gênes
( 'jeans' originated from this French term however, the first pair of denim jeans were created in Italy not France ), denim vests, jackets, denim dress shirts for men, denim shirts, sneakers, hats and bags. The newest creation is Jean Diapers! Okay so maybe it's not made of denim material but you've got to admit that's pretty awesome, and if you've got a kid, why not let the little one flaunt one of those around? Best yet, it's summer time so pull out one of your denim jackets, or bikini and hit the beach in style!
